It is common knowledge amongst most business owners that you need to have a good, professional-looking website… but why?

Your website is often going to be the first impression that your potential customers or clients have of your business. Therefore, it is vital that your website does a few things well.
Firstly, it needs to represent you and your brand for exactly what it is, i.e. it must carry a clear message about your products or services. This is essential when you consider that, on average, it only takes 50 milliseconds (0.05 seconds!) for website visitors to form their opinion of your business as a whole and decide whether to stay or leave.
Secondly, it must take users down a clear and simple path for them to be able to complete the actions you want them to take. This could be anything from adding items to an online basket and checking out, to filling out your contact form or picking up the phone to speak to you.

Thirdly, it must make people feel connected to you and your business. Including your contact details and social media links in prominent positions on your website will not only add credibility to the site, it will also encourage people to engage and interact with you.

In the age of COVID-19 and the subsequent periods of lockdown, the necessity for a great website that can offer you all the above and more has become heightened even further. Many people are now unwilling or unable to get out and about to visit physical premises and want to purchase products and services online instead so it's in our hands to help them.
